Many eyes right now are on Snap. This is the company behind Snapchat and that has been used around the world by people who love technology. It’s typically used by younger people, and has fallen out of favor with some of the younger market as of late. And so they are always trying to rethink themselves and figure out new ways to appear fresh and ever-present. Apparently Snap is trying to get into a new market, and it’s no wonder that it would be a market as hot as technology and gaming. According to fillings to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, Snap has now invested in the Australian game studio called Prettygreat.

What’s the story behind Prettygreat? Certainly, anyone playing with the 24Pokies online caisno or another site will want to keep tabs on the excitement developments happening here. Their games were created by some of the Australian gaming industry big names such as Phil Larsen, Hugh Walters and Luke Muscat. Muscat, you might recognize, is the name behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride. We are talking about big names making big changes in the gaming industry here. The three of them established the Prettygreat game studio together in 2015.

There has long been buzz that Snap would soon be launching their own gaming platform that will enable people to play games through Snapchat with the Snapchat app. Snap has been struggling for awhile now, far from its exciting origins in 2011 when the Stanford University drop out Evan Spiegel started it and got a huge following with young people.

Now it looks like the three founding members of Prettygreat have sold shares in the company and Kathryn Carter, the Snapchat Inc. general manager will become the director of Prettygreat. Snap isn’t coming to the gaming world out of left field, however. The Chinese tech giant Tencent had purchased a 12% stake in Snap back in November 2017 and then in March 2018, Snap bought the 3D game engine PlayCanvas. They also launched something called Snappables which is augmented reality gaming.

It’s definitely worth keeping your eyes now on Snap and on Prettygreat to see where they take this venture.
